Usage Guide

Learn how to use SF Crosshair's features and interface effectively.

Opening the Menu

Default Methods

  • Command: Type /crosshair in chat
  • Keybind: Press F5 (default, configurable)
  • Rebind: Go to FiveM Settings > Key Bindings > SF Crosshair

Menu Controls

  • ESC: Close the menu
  • Click: Navigate and interact
  • Tab: Switch between sections

Interface Overview

The SF Crosshair interface has 6 main tabs:

Detailed Tab Usage

🎨 Styles Tab

Purpose: Select your base crosshair style

Available Styles:

  • Style 0: Classic cross with gap
  • Style 1: Circle outline
  • Style 2: Solid dot
  • Style 3: Full cross (no gap)
  • Style 4: Square with cross
  • Style 5: Triangle
  • Style 6: Square outline
  • Style 7: Diagonal cross
  • Style 8: Circle with top line
  • Style 9: Horizontal line only
  • Style 10: Diamond shape
  • Style 11: T-shape
  • Style 12: Dashed circle
  • Style 13: X-shape
  • Style 14: Corner brackets
  • Style 15: Scope-style

How to Use:

  1. Click on any style to preview it
  2. See real-time preview on the left
  3. Style automatically applies when selected

⚙️ Settings Tab

Purpose: Fine-tune your crosshair appearance

General Settings:

  • Enable Crosshair: Toggle crosshair on/off

Dimensions:

  • Size: 10-60px (crosshair overall size)
  • Thickness: 1-10px (line thickness)
  • Gap: 0-20px (gap from center)
  • Opacity: 10-100% (transparency level)

Color Options:

  • Preset Colors: Click any color swatch
  • Custom Color: Use color picker for any hex color
  • Popular Colors: Green (#B0F527), White (#FFFFFF), Red (#FF0000)

Visual Options:

  • Outline: Adds dark border for better visibility
  • Center Dot: Shows dot in the center

Tips:

  • Use outline for better contrast against backgrounds
  • Higher opacity for better visibility
  • Smaller gaps for precision aiming
  • Larger size for easier target acquisition

❤️ Favorites Tab

Purpose: Save and manage your crosshair configurations

Saving Favorites:

  1. Configure your crosshair in Styles/Settings
  2. Go to Favorites tab
  3. Click "Save Current Configuration"
  4. Enter a descriptive name
  5. Click "Save"

Managing Favorites:

  • Load: Click crosshair preview to apply
  • Edit Name: Click pencil icon to rename
  • Copy Code: Click copy icon to copy unique code
  • Delete: Click trash icon to remove

Favorite Features:

  • Unique Codes: Each favorite gets a visual identifier
  • Instant Preview: See crosshair before loading
  • Quick Access: Load any saved configuration instantly
  • Unlimited Storage: Save as many as you want

🤝 Share Tab

Purpose: Share crosshairs with other players

Your PIN:

  • Location: Displayed prominently at top
  • Copy: Click copy button to copy PIN
  • Share: Give your PIN to friends so they can send you crosshairs

Sharing Methods:

Nearby Players

  1. Click "Refresh Nearby Players"
  2. Select player from list (within 10m by default)
  3. Choose which favorite to share
  4. Click "Send"

Send by PIN

  1. Enter recipient's 6-digit PIN
  2. Choose which favorite to share
  3. Click "Send"

Requirements for Sharing:

  • Crosshair must be saved in Favorites first
  • Recipient must be online
  • For nearby: must be within configured distance

🖼️ Image Tab

Purpose: Use custom crosshair images

Predefined Images (if configured by server):

  • Grid Display: Server-configured image options
  • Click to Load: Simply click any image to use it
  • Preview: See image name and description

Load from URL:

  1. Enter direct image URL
  2. Click "Load" button
  3. Image loads and applies instantly

Image Requirements:

  • Format: PNG with transparent background
  • Size: 64x64 to 128x128 pixels recommended
  • Hosting: Use reliable hosts (imgur, discord CDN)
  • URL: Must be direct link ending in .png

Current Image Management:

  • Preview: See currently loaded image
  • Remove: Click X to return to style-based crosshairs

Purpose: Information and resources

Content:

  • Script Information: Features and description

  • Version: Current script version

Crosshair Display

When Crosshair Shows

Always Mode (ShowOnlyWhenAiming = false):

  • Crosshair visible whenever enabled
  • Shows with any weapon or hands
  • Constant visibility for quick aiming

Aiming Mode (ShowOnlyWhenAiming = true):

  • Crosshair appears only when right-clicking (aiming)
  • More realistic for roleplay servers
  • Reduces screen clutter

Crosshair Behavior

With Weapons:

  • Shows according to configuration
  • Adapts to weapon type
  • Maintains consistent appearance

Menu Open:

  • Crosshair hidden while menu is open
  • Prevents interference with UI
  • Returns when menu closes

Player Workflow Examples

Creating Your First Crosshair

  1. Open Menu: Use /crosshair or F5
  2. Choose Style: Go to Styles tab, select style 0
  3. Customize: Go to Settings tab
    • Set size to 25
    • Set thickness to 3
    • Choose green color
    • Enable outline
  4. Save: Go to Favorites tab, save as "My First Crosshair"
  5. Test: Close menu and test in-game

Sharing with Friends

  1. Get Friend's PIN: Ask them to check Share tab
  2. Select Crosshair: Choose favorite to share
  3. Send: Use "Send by PIN" method
  4. Confirm: Friend receives notification and preview
  5. Accept: Friend accepts, crosshair saved to their favorites

Using Custom Images

  1. Find Image: Get PNG image with transparent background
  2. Upload: Upload to imgur or similar host
  3. Get URL: Copy direct image URL
  4. Load: Go to Image tab, enter URL, click Load
  5. Save: Go to Favorites to save the custom crosshair

Best Practices

Crosshair Design

  • Visibility: Use bright colors against dark backgrounds
  • Size: Start with 20-25px, adjust based on preference
  • Contrast: Enable outline for better visibility
  • Simplicity: Avoid overly complex designs

Favorites Management

  • Descriptive Names: Use clear, descriptive names
  • Organization: Create favorites for different situations
  • Regular Cleanup: Remove unused favorites periodically

Sharing Etiquette

  • Ask Permission: Ask before sending crosshairs
  • Describe: Explain what you're sending
  • Respect Choices: Accept if someone rejects your crosshair
